Tribute to Professor Kanteshwar Raj Saxena
Dear Manoj & Praveen,
This is absolutely incredible news, and my heart is filled with joy for you and your family! What a historic and proud day. As someone who practically lived and breathed Professor Kanteshwar Raj Saxena’s Text Book of Zoology during our Intermediate days, seeing his legacy digitally preserved on the Internet Archive feels deeply personal. It instantly brings back beautiful memories of our student days.
I still remember the absolute reverence we had for those books. Whenever we encountered a particularly difficult or complex question, you would calmly smile, open “The Bible,” as we fondly called it, and point us to Baba’s beautifully clear diagrams or precise explanations that seemed to solve the mystery effortlessly. It felt like having the ultimate guiding light right there in the room with us.
It was not merely a textbook; it was a mentor that shaped our dreams and laid the foundation for our medical careers.
For countless medical aspirants, those two volumes were the ultimate roadmap to success. I can still recall their immense value:
Volume I – Invertebrates & Cellular Foundations
This volume built our core foundation, taking us from the microscopic intricacies of Cell Biology through the entire spectrum of non-chordate phyla. It transformed what could have been overwhelming memorisation into clear, logical concepts.
Volume II – Chordates, Human Physiology & Genetics
This was our ultimate weapon for entrance examinations. Baba’s brilliant presentation of Human Anatomy, Physiology, Genetics and Evolution provided the conceptual depth and clarity that helped us face even the toughest medical entrance papers with confidence.
Baba’s profound knowledge and scholarly legacy are now immortalised in the digital world, ready to guide and inspire future generations of students and medical professionals across the globe, just as they guided us.
I am incredibly proud of Baba and equally proud of both of you for taking this wonderful initiative to preserve and share his remarkable legacy.
