A Teacher Who Never Stopped Learning
-Shantha Vijayaraghavan
Mr. K. R. Saxena Sir was a conscientious and dedicated teacher. I had the privilege of working with him for nearly 25 years at the Osmania University Science College campus. When I joined the teaching faculty at Osmania University, I was a newcomer to Hyderabad, and Mr. Saxena was one of the senior teachers who extended his friendship, guidance and support to me.
I always found him to be extremely friendly, helpful and humble, without the slightest air of seniority or position. For many years, we conducted practical sessions together. During that period, the Department of Zoology introduced new subjects such as Ecology and Physiology, along with their practical components.
Mr. Saxena was always eager to learn and understand new developments. His attitude demonstrated an important quality of a true teacher—that learning must continue throughout one's professional life.
We would discuss and carefully plan our classes well in advance. He was exceptionally punctual and was never late to class. Punctuality was one of his finest qualities and a defining trait of his professional life.
I personally benefited greatly from his academic guidance and experience. Beyond his qualities as a teacher and colleague, I remember him as a warm, humble and affectionate human being.
He was also blessed with well-brought-up children, which I believe was a reflection of the values and principles he instilled in his family.I will always remember Mr. K. R. Saxena Sir with great respect, reverence and affection.
His dedication to teaching, his humility, his willingness to learn and his punctuality remain an inspiration to me.
